Introduction:

In an ad for the fictional dairy brand Avery’s Farm, customers are invited to get their very own dairy cow, with fresh milk available around the clock. Pink and blue neon, retro posters, and rows of milk bottles frame a small patch of grass. At the center of the display, a figure in a cow-print top reclines against a person in a horned mask, as if demonstrating the offer.

Fresh Milk 24/7 brings character design, packaging, and retail display together in a staged dairy campaign. As the cow motif moves from the packaging to the clothes and finally to the person playing the cow, the invitation to “get your very own dairy cow” takes on a different meaning. In a world that promises round-the-clock service, what exactly is being sold?
